UNIFORM AT SIJS

Uniform plays a big role in teaching children to take pride in their appearance, it contributes towards general attitude and shows commitment to learning and to school. At SIJS we are very proud of our school uniform. We believe that it instils a sense of belonging to the school and its community.

We have taken every step possible to keep the cost of our uniform low with many items available from supermarkets and online retailers.

School Uniform consists of the following items:

  • Black/Grey Trousers/Shorts/Knee length Skirt or Skort
  • Plain White Shirt/Polo
  • Navy Blue Sweatshirt or Hoodie** or Cardigan (with/without school logo)

Please note- only sweatshirts are available with a logo

  • Black shoes (these can be trainer-based but must be all black)
  • Blue Summer dresses can be worn in the summer months. 

Please note – there is no requirement for the purchase of any logo items at St Ives Junior School.

** Hoodies have been discontinued but your child may wear a school hoodie if they currently have one in good condition

Ordering School Uniform

Items with the SIJS logo can be ordered direct from Trophy Textiles in Pool, or from their website- https://www.trophytextiles.co.uk/products/primary-schools/primary-schools-st-ives-junior-school. All other items can be purchased from a variety of shops.

Tights or socks – either white, grey, black, navy (under the knee)

Hair

  • minimum and functional accessories (no big bows)
  • long hair to be tied back
  • no patterns cut into the hair

Jewellery (for safety reasons)

  • earrings – only studs and these must be taken out during sports and swimming
  • watches – will be taken off for PE
  • no wristbands, bracelets or necklaces (except those for religious reasons)

No fake tattoos, nail varnish or make up.

PE Kit (required)

All children:

  • Plain White T-Shirt
  • Black/Navy shorts
  • Trainers/Plimsols (any colour)
  • Socks – either white, grey, black, navy (under the knee)

In the Winter:

  • Black jogging bottoms/leggings and black/navy jumper are suitable.
