Equality Objectives (2024–2028)
St Ives Junior School is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in line with the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty.
We aim to:
- Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation
- Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not
- Foster good relations between different groups
Our Equality Objectives
Over the next four years, we will focus on the following objectives:
- To ensure all pupils, including those with SEND and disabilities, can access a broad and balanced curriculum through appropriate adaptation and support
- To continue to reduce any gaps in attainment and progress for vulnerable groups, including disadvantaged pupils.
- To promote positive relationships, mutual respect and understanding across our school community.
Progress towards these objectives is reviewed regularly and reported to governors.

How we meet the Public Sector Equality Duty
St Ives Junior School meets its duties under the Equality Act 2010 by:
- Eliminating discrimination through clear policies, inclusive practices and staff training
- Advancing equality of opportunity by identifying and removing barriers to learning and participation
- Fostering good relations through our curriculum, assemblies and behaviour expectations
